5 Healthy Food Swaps to Elevate Your Health!!

We don’t have to give up the foods that we love to be healthy, we don’t have to give up everything we enjoy. We just have to learn how to prepare our favourite foods to be health promoting, we must improve upon that which we already do.  Below I’ve listed five healthy food swaps to use in place of our favourite “unhealthy foods” so that you don’t have to give up the foods that you love, and I promise, you will fall in love with these versions  once you’ve mastered them because they are not mucus forming, constipating or disease forming such as the original versions are to various degrees.  Foods that promote health become more desirable overtime because they are actually serving the body instead of harming the body.

Let’s get started!

#1 Steak / Meat – This is one of the most difficult foods for many to give up.  Why? Because meat is stimulating and it creates a false sense of energy – even euphoria when ingested which leads most people to assume that it is health promoting – it is not, not even a little, we humans are not designed to eat the complex, high protein flesh of animals & when we do so, we pay a price through our health.

A grilled or baked Portobello Mushroom seasoned to perfection! … Your body (and the animals) will thank you! 

   

 

 

2. PASTA! We all love pasta, and we all know that it is not a health promoting food, not even a little, pasta is mucus forming, acid          forming and difficult to digest… The good news is, we don’t have to give it up, we just have to learn how to make it better!  Forget the grains, forget the processed, packaged stuff, it’s time to get fresh & healthy!! 

 

 

 

 

Pasta Healthy Food Swap = 

Zucchini noodle pasta! Buy yourself an inexpensive spiralizer, some organic zucchini’s and fill a large bowl with these delicious, spaghetti like, easy to digest, raw, healthy noodles!! Once you have the noodles, it’s all about the sauce anyways!! 

   

 

 

3. MILK– Drinking milk is about as unhealthy as we can get (next to eating moldy milk, a.k.a cheese) check out Mucus Forming Milk… ideally, we would realize that we humans do not need milk at all past the age of 2.  We’ve  been programmed to crave milk, and to believe that it’s supplying the body with calcium – which couldn’t be further from the truth – as I’ve mentioned before, consuming another species milk (raw or pasteurized) causes our body to leech calcium from our bones and connective tissue to counteract & buffer the acidity … Drinking or eating milk (dairy) in any form leads to serious health issues overtime such as osteoporosis, arthritis, inflammatory issues, acne, constipation, fungal issues and so much more.  Let’s stop violating Natural law, cross species-ism is only justifiable in desperate times, and we pay a major price with our health for ingesting a cow/goats offspring’s growth fluids…Also take a look at : A Recipe For Poor Health… 

 

Healthy Food Swaps to replace MILK = 

You can begin with store bought or homemade Almond, Coconut, Macadamia, Any nut milk which is a huge step up from the animal excretions… if you really want to drink something that is health promoting and not processed,  I would suggest BANANA MILK!! It takes a minute to prepare.

Here’s how to make this underestimated, frothy, delicious, milky treat.  In a blender, blend a small handful of pitted dates in approximately 3-4 cups of water… next add 1-2 bananas and blend.  This drink becomes smooth & frothy.  It’s the ultimate milk re placer & your body is designed for fruit, so there’s no negative health effects overtime, in fact, quite the opposite!

   

 

4. BURGERS – Hardly anyone wants to give up burgers, they are advertised everywhere and most people grew up eating them, I guess you could say that Burgers are the ultimate comfort food.  Learning how to make your own healthy version is ideal to save your health.  Hamburger consumption often leads to obstructive issues such as heart disease, diabetes, etc.  As stated above, meat consumption of any kind leads to degenerative health issues overtime because we humans were not designed to eat dead animals check out my previous post: Meat & Animal products are not Healing Foods…, we are designed for the simple foods in life that do not have to be cooked to be consumed. If a food must be cooked in order to be consumed, that’s a big clue to the fact that we are likely not designed to eat that food, Also take a look at Cutting OUT Meat and Animal Products for Health…

 

Healthy Food Swap for Burgers = 

 

I will share 2 versions, one is simply using a grilled portobello mushroom seasoned to perfection in place of any burger patty, or, my favorite version is to make them yourself.  I never use a recipe, I wing it every time and they always turn out amazing. 

Use a large mixing bowl and finely chop your favorite vegetables such as carrot, zucchini, cabbage, cauliflower, olives, sun-dried tomatoes, mushrooms, anything!! Add your favorite seasonings or herbs to taste.  Next, boil 2 chopped potatoes and a sweet potato. Once soft,  Add the potato/sweet potato to the  chopped vegetable mixture, it should be thick enough now to form patties. You can also add a little ground flax-seed if you want more of a binder.

Use parchment paper placed on a flat pan to place your burger patties on and bake around 375-450F until brown on one side, flip and bake the other side.  Don’t forget, you can freeze the veggie patties for convenience.  If cheese is a must, use a plant based cheese, or better yet, Use slices of Avocado!! Avocado is natural, creamy, delicious and is superior to any animal products.  Add a slice of tomato 🍅.  For the bun, I prefer using iceberg lettuce instead, however, if you’re not there yet, that is OK, use a whole grain or coconut flour bun, or you can use a sprouted grain wrap, the possibilities are endless! 

  5. ICE-CREAM-  We don’t have to give up our all-time favorite cold dessert just because we now know how unhealthy dairy products are for humans.  All dairy products belong no where near the human body – if healing, or health is a priority.  Dairy is so mucus forming, so unhealthy, that I would rate it as one of the worst foods in terms of building disease issues for humans to consume Check out : Is Dairy Inflammatory?.

 

 

 

Healthy Food Swap for ICE-Cream =

 

So ,what can we eat that’s just as satisfying and delicious? The local grocery store has a variety of plant based ice creams that do not contain dairy, they are usually coconut or soy based,  yet I opt to make my own because my own version is actually healthy!! A vitaMix blender is ideal for making this amazing frozen treat.  Blend a handful of dates in a small amount of water or coconut milk.  Add 2-4 frozen bananas and blend… I love just banana and date alone, however, you can add a handful of frozen blueberries or fruit of your choice with the bananas and dates… blend until smooth, similar to ice cream consistency.  Congratulations, you’ve now made Nice Cream!! It’s just so wrong to rely on an animals baby calf growth fluid to make a creamy frozen dessert that can be made much better with healthy fruits!!

 

That’s it, there are my 5 healthy food swaps off the top of my head. I’ve got so many more to share (which I’ll save for future posts).

All animal products and meats are unhealthy to consume, we are simply not designed for the complex, high protein type of foods, we are designed for simple, hydrating, easy to digest foods such as fruits, greens and vegetables.  Overtime, when we continue to ingest complex foods such as meat, dairy, eggs, etc., they lead to degenerative health issues.  The reason people do not realize how unhealthy these foods truly are comes down to two reasons that I see,  

  1. We’ve been programmed from day one through false advertising & misinformation to believe that “Milk does a body good”, and “where do you get your protein”? It’s so ingrained in us that it’s almost like second nature to harm our health with little thought – high protein foods destroy healthy kidney function overtime and because everyone else around us is eating meat & dairy, it appears as a normal way of life when in fact it’s a sure path to disease …Eating these disease forming foods has been “Normalized” through the advertising, traditions and the fact that everyone else does it.
  2. Our health issues build gradually, with each bite, slowly overtime – And because our health issues come about slowly, it’s difficult to pinpoint the root cause as to how our health issues developed.  There’s doubt when people learn that their health issues are caused by the dairy, the eggs, the fast food, etc.  Combine the gradual development of our health issues with our medical professionals telling us that diet has nothing to do with our failing health.  Take note.  Rest assured, our health issues are built slowly – overtime through the continual ingestion of wrong foods for our physiology… 

Once we learn THE TRUTH ABOUT DIET AND DISEASE CONNECTION, the time comes when we must return to the foods that we are designed to eat if health and healing is your desire.  There are no quick fixes, there is no other path to gain our health back aside from putting in the necessary work, and returning to a health promoting way of life.  We were never designed to eat complex, high protein, degenerating foods and we certainly are not designed to take pills, pharmaceuticals, vitamins, supplements, minerals, isolates, powders or any substances that doesn’t come in the form of a whole food.  We humans are designed for simple, hydrating, easy to digest, fiber rich foods that only grow in Nature.
